My approach to graphic design draws on the seminal work "Don't Make Me Think, A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability" by Steve Krug. All elements of design should be dedicated to heightening the delivery of the intended message, information, and goal of communication.
Over the years, I've built many websites and other forms of communications. My first school website, built with an html editor, was created in 1996 for North Country School. Thanks to the Internet Archive, screenshots still exist online, and the Head of School's essays are still well worth reading.
Fast-forward to 2025, and like many independent schools, we use FinalSite as our primary marketing site, and Veracross portals for internal constituents. In managing the portals, my goal is always to streamline access to information, while maintaining the School's brand.
